Ms. Anwuli Jennifer Onyejose – President

Anwuli Onyejose was born in Boston, Massachusetts. Her father hails from Ezi in Aniocha North Local Government Area of Delta State, Nigeria. Anwuli graduated from Drexel University, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, where she attained a B.S. in Biological Sciences and minored in Psychology. Anwuli is currently pursuing a Dual Master’s Degree in Medical Science and Behavioral Medicine at Boston University in Boston, Massachusetts.

In her spare time, Anwuli enjoys volunteering, listening to music, going to the gym, and watching movies. Anwuli has two younger brothers and one older brother.

 Mr. Philip Ugochukwu Uwechue – Vice President

Philip Uwechue was born in Lagos, Lagos State of Nigera. His father hails from Umuneze, Ogwashi-Ukwu and his mother hails from Azungu, Ogwashi-Ukwu in Aniocha South Local Government Area of Delta State, Nigeria. Philip holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Physics from Georgia Southern University that is located in Statesboro, Georgia. Philip has three siblings.

 Mr. Chiedu Uwandi – Treasurer

Chiedu Uwandi was born in Washington, D.C. His father hails from Agidesei, Ogwashi-Ukwu and his mother hails from Umudei, Ogwashi-Ukwu in the Aniocha South Local Government Area of Delta State, Nigeria. Chiedu graduated from Bowie State University, in Bowie, Maryland, where he majored in Business Administration with a concentration in Finance. Chiedu is currently seeking to purse his M.B.A., with a specialization in Global Business and Leadership and Change Management, at either New York University or Rutgers University.

Chiedu volunteers with the NYC Cares Program where he feeds the homeless once a month. He also mentors under privileged minority males. Chiedu seeks to establish a nonprofit organization that mentors and develops minority males.

Chiedu is interested in Afro Fashion. He enjoys listening to Afro-Beat, RnB, and Hip-Hop! He also loves to Jet Ski, read, and partake in spontaneous events. Chiedu has two brothers and one sister.

 Ms. Barbara Uzoamaka Uwandi – Event Coordinator

 

Barbara Uwandi was born in Washington, D.C. Her father hails from Agidesei, Ogwashi-Ukwu and her mother hails from Umudei, Ogwashi-Ukwu in the Aniocha South Local Government Area of Delta State, Nigeria. Barbara currently attends Bowie State University, in Bowie, Maryland, where she is double majoring in Early Childhood and Special Education. After graduation, Barbara hopes to attend the University of Maryland to obtain a Master’s Degree in Business Administration. Barbara’s dream is to open Daycare Centers across the United States that will focus on assisting children with Special Needs and prepares these young children for when they start school. In the near future, Barbara also hopes to open a primary school in Nigeria.

Barbara volunteers at various schools and daycare centers where she works with children with special needs. Barbara started a Dance Group with the youth in her church which allows children of different ages to participate in both cultural and modern forms of African Dance. Barbara is also the captain of the Bowie State University African Student Association Dance Group and a member of the NaSo Dance Team.

In her spare time, Barbara enjoys dancing, watching movies, listening to music, watching television shows, working with kids, and spending time with her family. Barbara has three older brothers.

 Ms. Alexis Ifeanyi Gbemudu – Public Relations Officer

Alexis Gbemudu was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Her father hails from Illah in the Oshimili Local Government Area of Delta State, Nigeria. Alexis graduated from American University, in Washington, D.C., where she attained a B.A. in International Studies and minored in Public Health. Alexis is currently a M.P.H. Candidate at Johns Hopkins University and a J.D. Candidate at the University of Maryland.

Alexis is a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc., an organization that does a host of community service activities. In her spare time, Alexis enjoys traveling and watching reality television. Alexis has one older sister.

Mr. Denzel Ozieh – Public Relations Officer

Denzel Ozieh was born in London, England. His father hails from Ogwashi-Ukwu in the Aniocha South Local Government Area of Delta State, Nigeria. His mother hails from Ibusa in the Oshimili Local Government Area of Delta State, Nigeria. Denzel graduated from Georgia State University, in Atlanta, Georgia, with a B.B.A in Computer Information Systems. Denzel currently works as a Premier Field Engineer at Microsoft.

Denzel volunteers with Girls Who Code, an organization geared towards empowering girls in technology put together by Microsoft and other partners. Denzel also volunteers his time to mentor first year college students in his area. Denzel has four siblings.
